Lynn Toth

Social Work Intern

Lynn Toth, MSW Intern, found her place in social work as a second career. She was born and raised in Vestal, NY, and is currently completing her MSW at Binghamton University while interning at Whole Wellness Counseling in Binghamton. Lynn will graduate in December of 2024.

Lynn comes to the practice of social work after receiving a Bachelor in Art Education from Syracuse University, graduating with a NYS certification to teach grades K through 12. Then, she was accepted into the Masters of Art and Art Professions program at New York University. After graduating on the Dean’s List, she worked for nearly thirty years in the fields of education, art, and healthcare. Lynn taught art at Brooklyn Friends School, managing a neighborhood medical practice in Queens and Manhattan where she learned from, loved, and respected the patients. She was a senior manager of human resources at The Jed Foundation (JED), a mental health nonprofit organization specializing in suicide prevention. It was through her 12-year career at JED that her interest in being of service to others grew even stronger.

Helping people see their strengths and recognize their agency in life, with kindness and curiosity, is what Lynn strives to bring to her internship and future. In the time she has spent working with her supervisors and clients at Whole Wellness Counseling, she has developed a deep appreciation for the field and for the individuals willing to remain open to the healing and understanding therapy can provide.
