Katherine Durrant, DSW, LCSW, is a psychotherapist and the Executive Director and Founder of Whole Wellness Counseling. She earned her Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and has worked in a variety of tribal, government, and private practice settings throughout her career.

In 2022, Dr. Durrant founded Whole Wellness Counseling with the mission of providing high-quality, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services to individuals and families of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. Her leadership is guided by the belief that purpose, passion, and people should come before profit. By investing in clinician well-being, professional growth, and compassionate support, she has created a practice culture that empowers therapists to provide exceptional care to their clients and communities.

Dr. Durrant takes a whole-person approach to understanding mental health and family conflict, recognizing that emotional well-being is shaped by biological, psychological, social, and family factors. She helps clients identify the patterns that contribute to emotional distress, behavioral challenges, and relationship difficulties, then develops practical, evidence-based strategies to create lasting change.

While she has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, Dr. Durrant specializes in childhood behavioral and emotional disorders and is passionate about helping families build healthier patterns of communication, connection, and problem-solving through family-centered interventions. She believes that lasting change is most successful when the entire family system is supported and engaged in the therapeutic process.

Dr. Durrant also has specialized expertise in family conflict resolution. As a member of the Ithaca Area Collaborative Law Professionals, she works alongside attorneys and other professionals to help families navigate complex transitions through collaborative, non-adversarial problem-solving. This expertise can be particularly valuable for individuals and families facing divorce, child custody concerns, co-parenting challenges, elder care decisions, or family business disputes. She is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, a leading international interdisciplinary organization dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families involved in conflict.

When she is not working, Dr. Durrant enjoys spending time with her family, running, gardening, and playing the piano.
