Ashley Wimble, LMSW

Ashley is a psychotherapist at Whole Wellness Counseling in Orchard Park, New York. She offers both in-person and telehealth sessions to support clients in achieving their wellness goals.

Ashley earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University at Buffalo and became a licensed social worker shortly after graduation. She was inducted into Rho Kappa, UB’s chapter of the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society. Throughout her education, Ashley completed multiple field placements focused on social justice and health equity. Notably, she supported the Birth Equity Project at the Erie Niagara Area Health Education Center—New York State’s first initiative aimed at increasing access to birth doulas in communities of color to reduce maternal health disparities. She was also selected as a Social Impact Fellow, a competitive fellowship program focused on addressing social issues in nonprofit settings.

Ashley brings several years of experience in the human services field. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Pre-Employment Counselor with Starbridge Inc., helping young adults with disabilities gain paid internship opportunities and explore various career paths. Following graduate school, she served as the HealthySteps Specialist at Neighborhood Health Center, where she supported families with children ages 0–5 during pediatric visits and connected them to early intervention services to promote Kindergarten readiness. In addition to her work in pediatrics, Ashley provided behavioral health counseling to children, adolescents, families, and perinatal clients. She also worked as a Behavioral Health Clinician at Mobile Counseling of New York, offering telehealth services to children across the state.

As a therapist, Ashley tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client. She specializes in play therapy, including child-centered play therapy and sandtray therapy, recognizing that play is a child’s natural language and a powerful tool for emotional healing. Ashley also incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and various somatic interventions to create a supportive and flexible therapeutic environment.

Outside of her clinical work, Ashley enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, singing, and snuggling with her cat, Bagheera.
